Rev'd Dele Amusan
“Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking” (Luke 5:3-6).
Simon Peter was an experienced fisherman who had toiled all night without success. Therefore, when the Lord asked him to launch out into the deep, his initial reaction was to justify why there was no need to do so. I don’t think it will work but in obedience to your word, I will lower the nets again. He obeyed and caught a large haul of fish in the place where he had previously caught nothing. Outstanding results come from our simple obedience to the word of the Master. The word can come from different sources. It could be from the pulpit, during your personal, family devotion or other sources. Acting on the word puts you on a higher pedestal than your counterparts. When we do what God wants us to do at the time, He wants us to do it, there is an anointing on it. If we delay it becomes harder.
What we put in us comes out of us. Therefore, let more scriptures be inside of you. Stand on God’s promises throughout the year. Be more positive and speak life over every situation in your home. The Lord has promised in Hebrews 13:5 “…… I will never leave you nor forsake you”
Be a person of hope this year and the rest of this decade that something good will continuously happen to you because the Lord is with you. He is ever faithful to His promises.
I pray that you will experience abundant blessings this year in the Name of Jesus.
