  1. By Revd. Obafemi Omisade, Deputy General Overseer

“What if God, although choosing to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great patience the objects of His wrath—prepared for destruction? What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory— even us, whom He also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?” (Romans 9:22-24 NIV).

God is greatly patient according to our text. 2 Peter 3:9 AMP says He is extraordinarily patient toward us, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit, so every born-again believer has it and can grow in it. When we desire something, we usually want it now and fast. When we pray in line with God’s will, he hears and answers according to 1 John 5:14-15. The answers are usually dispatched immediately according to Daniel 9:23. Delays are not denial, but mostly due to obstructing evil forces - Daniel 10:13. Follow up prayers should therefore be Thanksgiving (1 Thessalonians 5:18) in assurance that we already have the answer, and taking our stand in Spiritual Warfare against the hindering demonic hosts (Ephesians 6:12), for as long as it takes in order to receive it.
